Composed in 1893 reflecting Antonin Dvorak's impressions as a 51 year old man arriving in the United States for the first time.
The 1st movement is orchestrated for 2 flutes (one doubling piccolo), 2 oboes (one doubling English horn), 2 clarinets, 2 bassoons, 4 horns, 2 trumpets, 2 tenor trombones, timpani, cymbals and strings
