Spotlight is a new series produced by Western Illinois University Television and hosted by Beth Seaton, director of the Office of Sponsored Projects at WIU.

This episode highlights the work of WIU School of Agriculture Professor Win Phippen and his groundbreaking research into seed breeding and alternative crops. Phippen has been responsible for garnering over $1 million in grant funding during his tenure here at WIU and actually has a part-time research appointment with the School Agriculture.

This episode shows what Phippen is doing at the WIU Farm, and he explains some of his seed breading techniques in the lab. Also featured is William Bailey, the director of WIU's School of Agriculture. Bailey provides a broad overview of the opportunities available to WIU students in the School of Agriculture.
