Author Paula Brown recommends identifying and using your personal strengths as the starting point for all your writing. Think about how you learn, what's interesting to you, and what you do best and then use it as a starting point. For instance, Paula is an illustrator so that is where she started her recent book, with the images, not the words. She suggests starting with the strength first and then filling in the other pieces of the process. Is your strength character development, outlining, research, interviewing? Identify that and use it as your starting point.
