Troy McConnell is an entrepreneur who has co-founded, developed and sold two companies - Image Technology (1995 to MCI for $26 million) and Batanga (2007 to Tudor Ventures for $70 million). He is currently CEO of AudienceFUEL, a startup that runs an online advertising marketplace for media companies. He also teaches in the School of Business at Wake Forest University. He speaks to the importance of listening to all feedback and advise, not just from those you believe to be subject experts.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
