On Feb. 20, an audience of more than 500 BPA employees, electric utility industry staff, and regional and tribal leaders celebrated Elliot Mainzer's swearing-in as the Bonneville Power Administration's 15th administrator. Now you can view highlights from the special ceremony at BPA headquarters in Portland, Ore.
U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden of Oregon was unable to attend in person, but his director of business outreach, Jay Ward, shared the senator's letter of support for Mainzer with the audience. Deputy Administrator Greg Delwiche also spoke before Randy Roach, BPA executive vice president and general counsel, administered the oath of office. Following the oath and a standing ovation, Mainzer, who had served as acting administrator since July 2013, gave his first speech as the newly minted administrator and chief executive officer.
