When comparing the means of several populations, the standard oneway ANOVA assumes that the standard deviations of all populations are equal. Version 17 adds alternative methods that may be used when that assumption is not true: the Welch test and Brown-Forsythe tests to compare the means, and the Games-Howell procedure for post-hoc comparisons.
