LVMPD officers brought holiday cheer to more than 90 underprivileged children as they dashed through the aisles of a local Target store Saturday morning, December 3, 2011. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and Target Corporation joined forces once again to provide a holiday shopping spree for underprivileged children at the Target store located at 278 S. Decatur Blvd. The objective of this charitable program is to provide a holiday shopping experience for underprivileged children, while fostering good community relations between the LVMPD and local citizens. The majority of the total funds (more than $16,000) for this program were raised and donated by LVMPD employees throughout the year. Target also made a financial donation and generously allows the use of its store, opening early just for the event.
