In this video I demonstrate the Nubatama Ume 100 Extra Hard version of the stone. I start by showing the Hard version of the stone with the swarf from the previous sharpening session still on to use for comparison purposes. Then I introduce the extra hard stone and put it in the stoneholder. I demonstrate the use of this stone by sharpening the back side of a traditional Japanese chisel.
A bit less porous than the regular and hard version. This stone will appeal to woodworkers for sharpening the backs of chisels or for straight razor honers who will appreciate the precise nature of this stone, especially good for setting precise bevel geometry on straight razors.. Also Edge Pro users
Extremely hard stone, bordering on scratchy - but not scratchy. VERY little swarf is generated. The water stays on the stone surface for a long time. Still getting good feedback. Bright shiny finish.
These will be available at chefknivestogo.com on Ken's Corner in the near future. Please check this site for updates.
