Turns out I'm wrong that there are no compassionate academics countering the dehumanization of pedophiles: I recently came across an article in the Star, 'Is pedophilia a sexual orientation?' In that I learned about the work by Dr. James Cantor and the community built from the website, 'Virtuous Pedophiles'. Here are the links:
