The 14th Annual Run For Hospice was run on October 17, 2009. On a cool windy october day from Grace & Truth Sports Park in Hilton, NY. The race featured defending champion Jeff Eggleston, 2008 Olympic Steeplechaser qualifier Kyle Heath, Ryan Woods of North Carolina, Dan Giza, Mark Andrews, canadian masters great Steve Boyd and Ted Turner. Kyle Heath would get out to a early lead with a 4:39 mile but a pack of runners just off the pace would catch up in the windy conditions. Heath & Eggleston would break away from the group at 2miles and then Eggleston would pull away with a last mile of 4:27. The womens race saw two Canadians go 1,2 as Emily Tallen would cruise to a 22 second win followed by Masters Canadian great Paula Wiltse.
