Follow Team Greenhorns as they build their robot in 3 days!
The GreenHorns have began manufacturing many of their previous prototypes and testing their viability. For our fuel intake, we decided to mount it straight up and down instead of at an angle to save space and stay within robot constraints. We also tried out a new concept of a comb climber that is used to better grab the knot of the rope. We were able to complete a functional wheel shooter that can get fuel into the boiler. We were also able to demonstrate our fully function gearbox loader. We also share tips and advice for what has been working well and what hasn’t.

Also, to clear up some info about our team from the announcement video:
We are an Ri3D team from North Dakota State University (NDSU). A Bison Robotics club at NDSU was started by former members of FRC 4607 (C.I.S. from Becker, MN). Our club participates and volunteers for numerous robotics events throughout Minnesota and NDSU including FLL coaching, FRC team mentoring, and FRC regional and national volunteering. Our team consists entirely of college students and we have about 20 different FRC teams represented on the GreenHorns. This is our third year participating in the Ri3D competition. We work inside Becker High School and have full access to a welding and woodworking lab. Our program only continues to grow and we have many passionate members who can’t get enough of robotics!
