These pictures were taken in January 2001 at Nor-Ski Runs in Decorah Iowa. The ski area hadn't been open for several years and would close a few years later. Nor-Ski Runs (Corn Cob Nob) was a great, public, family ski area in the "Driftless" Zone (look it up on Wikipedia) of Northeast Iowa. It operated from 1959 through about 2004 or so. While I was there, I actually saw "Mighty" Bob - who had given me my first ski lesson abouty 30 years earlier (he was taking a day off from teaching skiing at a ski area in Wisconsin) - and who was one of the prime forces in getting Nor-Ski Runs up and running and keeping it going as long as possible.
