Witold has failed his law exams and Fuchs has just quit his job in Parisian fashion company. They'll go and spend a few days by the sea and in the mountains, in a so-called "boarding house." When they arrive, they are greeted by a hanged sparrow in the forest, followed by a piece of wood, also hanged, then by a series of signs on the ceiling and in the garden, indicating instructions and the direction to take.
