Part 2/2 of the first and only single player campaign and marine tutorial for Natural Selection called ns_training, it was made by Meat_Popsicle and released back in 2005. It is a very nice way to teach new players about the way the game works, maybe someone in the community could pick up Meat_Popsicle's torch and make this a reality for Natural Selection 2 as well. Here's the link to the thread on the Unknown Worlds Entertainment forums and a backup mirror link to filefront, enjoy!

Natural Selection 2 is currently in beta, you can pre-order the game from Unknown Worlds Entertainment's website (http://www.naturalselection2.com/buy)

NS2 is a FPS+RTS hybrid, consisting of two completely different teams. You can play as the TSF Marines, who are heavily dependent on technology and ranged combat. And you can play as the Kharaa, a breed of highly evolved aliens, formidable in melee and extraordinary agile.

Both teams have a commander, which provides the team with research, defensive and offensive structures. The commander also supports the players out on the battlefield. Natural Selection 2 is an asymmetrical game, which really shows in both the FPS perspective and RTS perspective.

The game is being built from the ground up on their proprietary game engine called Spark Engine. The engine features Dynamic lighting, maps do not require hours of compiling. The editor is completely real time. Saving a lot of time on development and testing. Perfect for smaller indie developers that are lacking the resources for large teams

There is a Natural Selection 2 blog, on which most important things surrounding NS2 are posted (http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2). And there is also a real time development tracker on the site (http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/prog...)
