A few tips on how to find tasty chords and melodies for your EDM tracks:

1. Pick a scale (like C Major or Minor) and stick to these notes.
2. Choose chords that only use notes from this scale.
3. Keep your bass and your background melodies on your chord notes. This way the foundation will always sound harmonic.
4. Choose whatever scale notes you like for your lead melody. This will spice up your track.

Use Sundog Scale Studio to find great chords and matching melodies easily. The internal step sequencer can work on both chords and scale notes. Simply connect Sundog to your DAW via MIDI and go wild!
