Still waters run deep. I got into Tim Buckley's version of 'Martha' by Tom Waits courtesy of the Word magazine. It indirectly influenced the rebirth of this song from my distant past about letting your head rule your heart and regretting it. We're in similar territory to that which I sung about in 'Safety in Numbers'. True feelings are concealed for fear of losing a dear friendship and a phone call goes wrong.

Age has given me the confidence to accept and value the silence I can sometimes exude as preferable to the bluster and bombastic nature of others. Nevertheless, I remain very much a person who can render himself incapable of coherent speech if I ponder too much. The amateur psychologists amongst you will have already correctly noted on your jotters that I over compensate with You Tube performances!!!!

No Niamhs were hurt in the composing of this song as names were changed to protect the innocently oblivious. I've always loved the name and I'm all out of Irish songs for Paddy's Day so this will have to do!
