As accessibility is a priority in our mode of work, we aim to set an example of transparent and professional grant-making processes for arts and culture in the Arab region. Since our launch in 2007, we have supported over 500 independent artists and cultural institutions in creating their unique projects. Nevertheless, Arab-run grant-making and independent philanthropic funding for the arts is a relatively recent phenomenon. When we conducted our Grantee Survey in July 1st, 2013, we found that artists and potential applicants are somewhat mystified about the methodology of our grant-making. Responding to the request to further clarify our process, we are pleased to launch today our new AFAC-Info animation.

Designed by young Lebanese animator Amanda Nowyhed using a simplified and easy to follow visual design, we trust this animation will serve as a valuable resource for aspiring artists seeking support from AFAC.

We would also like to credit Haitham Atme for sound design, Ramzi Maroun for music composition, Naji Makhoul for Arabic Voice Over and Zena Takieddine for English Voice Over.
