Concept study / prototype for the MARS 1523 team, built back in January for show-and-tell, not built to full size. Toy shovel represents a lifting arm. This proto only lifted 8 ft. because that's the ceiling height in my shop. Tried to come up with something lightweight and modular. Anything that could bend or break could be removed or replaced with a couple of bolts. One motor does everything. Entire mast with arm only weighed a few pounds, could be removed and replaced as a module. It was educational but the team didn't go with this type of lift. I did not see any robots with anything like this at the competition, so before I dump it, I thought I should post a video. Maybe someone will get some ideas from it. Sorry about the shaky video, juggling camera and motor control.
