Beula Lake. 6-miles west from Flagg Ranch on Grassy Lake Road (Reclaimation Road) and 3-miles up on a trail. The Trail head is poorly marked on the right hand (north) when coming from Flagg Ranch, just at the beginning of Grassy Lake Reservoir. Look for an orange marker on a tree. The actual signs are 50-feet off the road and not visible until you start walking on the trail. Government at it best!

This was the first time I fished it and found the fish smaller than everything I've heard or read of the place. Our average size fish was between 10-12 inches. We did see a few trout 15+ but did not catch any.

There are two nice NPS Back Country campsites on the lake. Permits through the Back Country Office are required. They seem seldom used. The first mile of the hike is mostly uphill, but only moderately difficult.

Didn't see any, but this is big time bear country. Use all precautions when going into this area.
