A Mass and full military honors were given for Capt. Michael Ryan McCaddon, M.D. on Tuesday during his funeral at St. Ann Church and Calvary Cemetery in Gloucester. Father Mark Green presided at the Mass.
Family, friends, dignitaries from Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, where he was a resident in the obstetrics and gynecology department, were on hand, as well as the 54th Massachusetts Honor Guard of Milford.
His widow, Leslie McCaddon, of Rockport, and their families received an Army commendation medal at the graveside service, "for his selfless and excellent service in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Tripler Army Medical Center and to the Army," said Ltc. Brad Whitcomb and Capt. Chris Squires, both of Tripler, who traveled to Gloucester from Honolulu to attend the funeral and burial services. They also received the flag that adorned his casket and the spent shells from the three-volley-salute by the honor guard.
