The Porter flies! I needed some up trim and before I did that I let the elevator sitck slip which sent the plane down and then when I pulled up the left wing strut tube (the one on the wing) came loose. I was able to get the plane back down but both of the strut tubes on the fuse ripped off on inpact.
After taping it all back on I did more flight test. Man this thing flies slow! After seeing a real PC-6 and flying a model in FS, I have to say I have very scale power on this bird. It can climb forever at 40 degrees and takeoff with takeoff flaps set in less then a foot. Because of the quick tape fix, one wing had more diherdral to the other so in the turns it felt weird. Will fix that when I secure the strut tubes better.
I now plan to add a cockpit, pilot figure, flap gap fairings, funky foam on the landing gears to add that thich metal look and some line riggings on the back just like the real full scale version. There is a scale fly-inn at my club in July and this would be a great model for the fun-scale class :)
