French New Wave, abstract, surreal, dada, avant garde, experimental, art house, short film! This is my take on the cinematic forms the title of this "video" labels. Complete nonsense, pretentious anti-art. How can I parody anti-art, that which is itself kind of its own parody. I've more or less contributed to these "genres" through the very act of attempting to mock them. I find the absurdity humorous. I also tried to make this seem creepy, unsettling and dream-like. Due to the juxtaposition of random visuals and the creepy music, strikes the viewer with anxiety--feeling like they've fallen into an alternate reality sharing only visual resemblance to our own, yet it is the unknown of any norm or what to expect that evokes fear. See how I gave nonsense meaning? It's creating a context and subtext I claim to be there, but as the artist, I'm just bullshitting. MOMA, here I come.
