Salomon RE-evolutionizes running with a shoe that’s unique to any human. To demonstrate it in a playful experiment, we crafted a ME:sh for Lucy the australopithecus.

With the help of paleoanthropologists specialized in motricity, the Salomon team retrieved Lucy’s data, and crafted a shoe that fits her perfectly using ME:sh’s 4 fit approach :
• Anatomical fit, the shape of one’s foot : based on Lucy’s reconstructed foot (by paleoartist John Gurche), Salomon’s specialists and engineers were able to thermoform ME:sh’s structure, the ‘skeleton’, to fit her large V-shaped foot.
• Biomechanical fit, how one runs : with the help of Dr. Druelle from the Laboratory for Functional Morphology of the University of Antwerp, Salomon adapted Lucy’s midsole to fit the way she moved.
• Usage fit, where one runs : 3.2 million years ago, Lucy’s environment was no different than today’s, and therefore requires to be adapted with one of Salomon’s outsole technology.
• Preference fit, what one wants to feel or look like : following Kilian’s preferences, Salomon assumed Lucy would have a taste for minimalism. They chose a full black color on every element of her ME:sh, and made it light to better feel nature.
