the three "scientists" are actors, this is an ILLUSION. Too bad their video editor left in a frame with visible strings haha.

Just set the camera up way across the room and trust that it'll capture all the relevant bits.

if you pause at 0.24 you can clearly see the strings

Either way, in this day and age, I would usually expect college level students to be able to figure out how a camera works and understand basic dad with a tape camera level cinematics (Leveled horizontal aspect ratio + no compression or size change on conversion). Anyhow, I can agree the world is not perfect as I've seen astrophysics masters do calculus in their head but tell me their computer's OS is Microsoft Office 2007, and I'll just have to grit my teeth on this in the future =\

It's because their videos are from other sources. This one in particular is from the University of of Massachusetts Amherst, and filmed by the students. I'm sure that should have been obvious.

Oh no, NSV is now affected by the Verticle Video Syndrome. Its just been sht on sht for these guys, first the 240p disease and now the VVS, mercy on them.

I know the article is linked right there, but maybe just one little subtitle in the video itself? Like..."Tape using fiber structure similar to the soles of a gecko's feet is able to support way more weight than ordinary tape." Or better yet, a side by side comparison of gecko tape and regular tape.
