March 2 (Bloomberg) -- Andreas Rietbrock, a professor of Earth Sciences at Liverpool University in the U.K., talks with Bloomberg's Erik Schatzker about the impact of the Chilean earthquake on the Earth's axis and length of day. The tremor, which measured 8.8 on the Richter scale and killed more than 700 people in Chile, probably shifted the Earth's axis and shortened the day, according to scientists. (Source: Bloomberg)
