This video shows how to add Custom CSS to hide an element on the Facebook page.

Its best to watch in full screen mode otherwise you cant see whats going on clearly.

In this example, its the "Close Friends" list in the left hand side bar. But you can use this technique to hide any other lists or elements on the page that have an "id" attribute.

The Custom CSS used in this example is
/* Hide Close Friends Smart List */
#navItem_fl_10150289419661927 {display:none}

When hiding a page element using the ID, you need to put a "#" in front of the id name, as above then put {display:none} after it.

If the element doesn't have an "id" attribute, but has a "class" attribute, you can also hide it, similar to how we hid the element with an id, but instead of prefixing the class name with a "#" we prefix it with a "." (a full stop aka a period) so if the element had a class with name "testClass" we could hide all elements with that class name with the following CSS
.testClass {display:none}

When you have finished adding the code, click the "Save and Close" button, and your CSS code will be added to the page and should take effect after the page has reloaded

FB Purity is a safe, free and top rated browser extension that has many built in functions for hiding Facebook junk and fixing Facebook annoyances, it is also extremely customisable.
