UPDATE May 2013: I just finished transcribing the first volume of tunes from my New Tune a Day project, and this tune is included. You can order the whole online tunebook here: http://newtuneaday.blogspot.com/2013/.... The transcriptions include my own articulations and bowings.

I'm learning a new tune everyday. The other day someone suggested I learn a tune from an album and sent me a link to one of the tracks (The Crooked Road to Dublin). I loved the playing so much that I hunted down the album on amazon. I couldn't find an mp3 album anywhere so I waited old-fashioned-style for it in the mail. It came yesterday! The album is "The South West Wind" by Ronan Browne and Peter O'Loughlin. So today I learned a jig from that album called the Drunken Gauger. (I dearly hope I pronounced it right \ˈgā-jər\, as in "one who gauges.") Ronan Browne is a piper from Dublin, and Peter O'Loughlin is a Clare fiddler. The tunes on the album have a lovely relaxed tempo, which is typical of the music from County Clare.
