Listening to the Nightwatch Net, a 40 meter ham radio ragchew net. I had just checked into the net a few minutes prior to shooting this video. My antenna was on the ground where it fell last week, but I loaded it up with my MFJ Differential-T tuner and was able to check in with a good signal on 100 watts. The rig here is a Ten-tec 546 Omni-D, one of Ten-tec's classic permeability-tuned rigs. This particular model was made 1978-1980. The digital display is actually a frequency counter, which is why it reads approximately 100 Hz low. My Ten-tec Scout does the same thing. It's no big deal; just one of the quirks of operating a real radio.
