We are ecstatic to present to you Katie Pruitt from Nashville (via Atlanta) performing her song Loving Her, which will be part of her upcoming debut EP. This live performance was filmed at Houston Station in Nashville. Subscribe for the latest OurVinyl videos at http://bit.ly/1FkkrKs
About the song: We met up with Katie and her band in late December of 2017 to capture this session that consisted of performances of her unreleased original songs, which will soon become part of a Live EP (and will be her first official album release of any kind). The first song to be released is "Loving Her", a song addressing the challenges of being in a same-sex relationship and dealing with others' opinions on that matter. "Loving Her" represents a hope for love and acceptance for future generations.

If loving hers a sin, I don't wanna go to heaven There's nothing else up there I could need And if I'm sinning all day, I guess I'll sin all seven If I can still have her by the end of the week
If loving hers a drug, then I wanna be addicted Why would I get clean, when the highs this good? She says I'm the only who can hit it And all the other druggies just wish they could They wish they could
Chorus: You see I used to be ashamed To write a song that said her name Cause I was too afraid of what they all might say...
But if loving her is wrong, And it's not right to write this song Then I'm still not gonna stop And you turn the damn thing off
If loving her is a choice, she's all I'm gonna choose No way you could sway me in another's favor Some people choose Buddha or Jesus or booze But her body's my temple and her soul is my savior
Woo hoo woo hoo Woo hoo woo hoo Woo hoo woo hoo
You see I used to be ashamed To write a song that said her name Cause I was too afraid Of what people might say
But if loving her is wrong And it's not right to write this song Than I'm still not gonna stop And you can turn the damn thing off and walk away
If loving her hurts, then I'll keep on hurting If it means staying true to who I am You may not agree but like me, you're learning That people don't like what they don't understand No people don't like what they don't understand
You can shake your head You can clench your fists You can judge, hold a grudge You can just be pissed
You can say it's wrong You can say a prayer While your doing that I'll be over there... loving her, loving her, loving
Yeah loving her
