Emotions ran high as Aurora Tafoya and her husband spoke to a judge Thursday afternoon. Both parents were protesting the 15 year aggravated assault guilty plea Daniel Villalobos took after being accused of murdering their daughter. "It isn't easy to forget my daughter and keep on going...that isn't easy," Aurora told Action 4 News. It was over a year ago that Aurora's daughter, Farrah, was beaten to death by her husband Pedro Villalobos. Pedro was convicted of the murder and sentenced to life in prison. His brother Daniel, who was also accused, took a plea deal. The sentence did not sit well with the grieving family. "We'll always have Farrah in our minds and in our hearts," Farrah's sister, Brenda explained. "The decision that they made today was unfair." The Tafoya family told Action 4 News they will fight this plea bargain---even if that means hiring a lawyer and filing a civil suit.
