"From a very young age, athletics have been a huge part of my life. From climbing trees to any organized sport I could get into, physical activity has always filled as a form of freedom and therapy throughout my life. But as I graduated high school at 6'1 135lbs I found myself suffering from a lack of strength, low confidence, and a poor self image. I was determined to gain some size by doing what any other 18yr old would do...eat as much as possible and lift weights.

I began lifting weights with friends in my free time and as I only noticed minor changes in my body, I realized that a strong passion for fitness was growing inside of me. I wanted to change and I was actually enjoying learning more and more as I read magazines and asked questions to whoever seemed to know what they were doing. But I wanted to know more. I wanted to learn so much that I could pass on that knowledge and passion to help others.

I know what it feels like to have self defeating image issues. I've had my fair share of hurtful comments made towards me. To this day I still struggle with the words "skinny" and "thin" because of the hurt I use to feel. But I've come to embrace those words. Turned them around to fuel my desire each day to live an active lifestyle that I can fully enjoy whatever life throws at me. Visually I'm not what many would consider the typical male trainer. Now a solid 50lbs heavier than my high school days, I've "beefed" up, but can still be labeled as skinny or thin. But that's ok. My goals aren't to be the biggest, baddest, dude in the weight room. Fitness training encompasses so much more than just lifting weights and flexing in the mirror. My training has allowed me to play sports at a higher level, increase my stamina and flexibility, overcome a major back injury from a car accident that left me unable to walk, and get into the best shape of my life. And combining my fitness training with the added benefit of following key healthy eating guidelines, I've come to enjoy better nights rest, extra energy, and I very rarely get sick.

With the knowledge of the human body from graduating from school for personal training and massage therapy I have the confidence and experience needed for guiding and molding individuals into becoming the best they can be. And having gone through the physical and mental challenges that I've faced, and made the changes in both physical exercise and healthy eating through dedication, my life has completely changed and I strive to help people in a way that changes their lives forever as well." -- Daniel Riggs
