The National Creative Writing Graduate Fair is an annual event for writers aspiring to have their work published, where they can meet with literary agents, attend workshops and panel discussions run by publishing professionals, and meet like-minded writers from the North and beyond.
Enjoy this video of Kit de Waal, award-winning writer and debut novelist (My Name is Leon), giving her keynote speech at the NCWGF. The speech really set the tone for the day, and covered a range of topics from ownership to gender, race and background, ending with an audience Q & A. Kit de Waal set up a fully funded scholarship opportunity for a budding writer to have a place on the Creative Writing MA at Birkbeck, University of London, as well as giving a number of useful rewards to the top five applicants.
Thanks to everyone who we interviewed on the day. Video credit belongs to Sagitta Media.
