A year after a storm toppled the famous "Maple Leaf Forever Tree" in Leslieville, Toronto-based artisan and Eco-woodturner Michael Finkelstein wanted to help preserve this beautiful, 150-year old silver maple tree for future generations to enjoy, through his artwork. Using the wood from the tree trunk, he created a set of four nesting bowls, and donated them to the ROM, where they will be displayed in association with LEAF (Local Enhancement and Appreciation of Forests) as part of the Partners in Protection program that happens on a Sunday in each month at the ROM.
