In this video, Brian Tomasik discusses ways in which insects and other bugs suffer both at human hands and in the wild. He then explores how consumption choices and environmental policies may be able to significantly change the amount of insect suffering that occurs. A bug-welfare movement should emphasize the badness of the average bug's life in the wild and keep in mind far-future scenarios that pose a risk of multiplying suffering on a cosmic scale.
