http://www.fitforafeast.com/dance.htm How to do illusion turns. Thanks to Caitlin at Creative Edge Dance for helping us demonstrate how to do an illusion. These may also be called by another name, but we know them as illusion turns - where you give the illusion you are going upside down. The can be done from standing or at the end of a turning section.
This is also a tutorial - for a la seconde turns: ://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fzh-dZ1CP7Q
It helps to have your splits since it looks best when you can get your leg fully extended. The best way to increase flexibility is by stretching regularly. Check out this video for lower body flexibility training: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gj-i_g...
These turns do take some practice. You may need to put your hands down when first learning since you may get the sensation you are falling or lose your balance. Try to remember to use your core muscles to help you with control and keep your legs stretched with pointed feet to make it look good. Good luck with your illusion dance move!
