On Thursday, December 8th, 2011, The 99% will assemble and address our grievances to Congressman Justin Amash. Michigan has been hurt by high rates of job losses. Unemployment in Michigan continues to hover near 10% , with no new jobs being created. The privatization or profits and the socialization of risks on behalf of the 1% has hurt Michigan workers, families, and communities. Many workers will see their unemployment benefits end when their UIA Insurance expires shortly after the holiday season. No new jobs have been created to put these people back to work.

"I don't think that it's the right solution to extend unemployment benefits. We have to deal with the cause of the problem and not the symptoms "
-Justin Amash, to MLive on Election Day 2010

Mr Amash has publicly vowed to work to repeal health care reform, and to vote against any extension of unemployment benefits, He has failed to enact any meaningful legislation to bring new jobs to Michigan. He has failed to introduce any legislation that will prevent the loss of even more jobs. He has failed to protect our workers.
The end of unemployment benefits will mean that Michigan workers that once contributed to our economy will now slide even further into debt trying to provide food and shelter for their families. Even more Michigan workers will fall below the poverty line, with no hope for a better future. Congressman Justin Amash has ignored the very people that he was elected to serve. He has betrayed Michigan families in the name of generating profits for his puppet masters on Wall Street. We the people, the 99%, must make our voices heard. We can not allow this terrible injustice to continue any longer. We must unite, on Thursday, December 8th, 2011, in downtown Grand Rapids. Congressman Justin Amash must face the very people that are hurt by his actions. We the people must remind him who he works for, and that the next job lost in Michigan might be his job.
