HOW TO REMOVE THE SONIC ACTIVATION MODULE NUISANCE
THE SONIC ACTIVATION MODULE NUISANCE IS NOT A TROJAN HORSE, VIRUS OR MAL-WARE. IT IS TRASH PARTS OF A PROGRAM LEFT OVER WHEN A ROXIO OR SONIC PROGRAM WAS REMOVED FROM YOUR COMPUTER.
TO SAVE TIME FOR THE COMPUTER SAVVY FRIENDS. THE SOLUTION IS TO GO TO SYSTEM CONFIGURATION, THEN START UP, THEN DISABLE (ISUSPM) AND (ISSCH)
AFTER YOU REBOOT DELETE ALL (ISDM.EXE) FILES. THEY WILL BE (HIDDEN FILES) FOUND IN THE PROGRAM FILES.
STEP BY STEP FOR THE XP USER
HIT CTR, ALT, DEL ONCE AND GO TO THE WINDOWS TASK MANAGER, APPLICATIONS,
AND END TASK ON (SONIC ACTIVATION MODULE)
THEN (X) OUT OF THE WINDOWS TASK MANAGER
NEXT GO TO (START) THEN (SEARCH) IN THE SEARCH BAR TYPE IN (MSCONFIG)
The search should lead you to SYSTEM CONFIGURATION,
THEN CLICK (START UP),
THEN DISABLE (ISUSPM) AND (ISSCH) FILES BY CLICKING THE CHECKED BOXES BESIDE THE FILE NAMES.
CLICK (APPLY), THEN CLICK (OK)
REBOOT YOUR COMPUTER THE THE SONIC ACTIVATION MODULE NUISANCE SHOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM ON BOOT UP.
To remove the files completely from your hard drive.
NEXT GO TO (START) THEN (SEARCH) IN THE SEARCH BAR TYPE IN (ISDM.EXE)
The search should lead you to (c:/ PROGRAM FILES.common files/ install shield/ isdm.exe)
OR SOME SIMILAR FILE NAME WHICH INCLUDES (ISDM.EXE)
DELETE ALL (ISDM.EXE) FILES.
THEY WILL BE (HIDDEN FILES) FOUND IN THE PROGRAM FILES. If you are "Not Authorized" Go to the control panel and make sure your "user" name is authorized as an "administrator" If necessary chang to a user which is an "administrator".
You may have to click "computer", "tools","folder options""view" "show hidden files and folders" click "Apply" and reboot.
Search again for the ISDM.EXE and delete it.
You can also rename the ISDM.EXE file to delete.exe and then reboot the computer, search for "delete.exe and delete the file
THIS SHOULD PERMANENTLY CURE THE SONIC ACTIVATION MODULE NUISANCE
