Representative Matt Caldwell continued his statewide #2LaneTravels Work Days Tour with Saucey Lady Oyster Company, harvesting oysters in the Gulf, in order to highlight and showcase the industries he would oversee as Commissioner of Agriculture.
As a part of his #2LaneTravels Work Days, Caldwell is working at Florida businesses that are vital to Florida’s economy. Saucey Lady Oyster Company was founded in 2014 by Tim Jordan and Walt Dickson. Tim and Walt are charter members of an oyster growing program that promotes aquaculture and creates jobs in Wakulla County, FL. Their business is located in the pristine waters of Oyster Bay near Panacea, Fla where a clean, nutritious, safe environment enables the growth of rich, creamy, firm textured oysters.
Representative Caldwell said, “It was exciting to work alongside oyster ranchers. The hard work being done to revitalize the oyster industry in Florida is vital to our state’s economy. The opportunity to highlight important jobs and get firsthand experience in these industries, will help me lead and champion ag-related issues that are vital to job growth and economic prosperity in our great state.”
