9 December 2011 - my 33rd birthday - was the last-ever day of bendy buses serving the streets of London. The 207 from Hayes By-Pass to White City was the last route to be 'debendified'.
As a known fan of these articulated buses, BBC London News asked me to record a video diary as I travelled with friends along the full length of the route on its final day. They asked me to ensure I was in shot all the time and speak about why I liked bendy buses, what I'd miss, and so on - so that's what I did.
However, on the BBC London News TV show, they only used a very short clip of me unwrapping the delicious biscuits my friend Helen had baked me as a birthday present, rather than any of the stuff about bendies I'd prepared - d'oh!
So here's a more comprehensive edit of my video diary, as a memento of our final trip on one of these much maligned but, for many, much loved vehicles. RIP, bendies!
