Robert Meyer Burnett's company Ludovico Technique produced this original teaser trailer for THE HILLS RUN RED, conceived and directed by Dave Parker, as a sales tool to sell the original vision for the film. Yaron Levy provided the moody cinematography. Based on Ludovico's finished teaser and a newly commissioned rewrite of the original script by noted horror writer David J Schow, Warner Premiere President Diane Nelson and production executive Matt Bierman decided the film would be perfect to produce as part of their output deal with Joel Silver's Dark Castle Entertainment. Shot in one day on a shoestring in the Vine theater on Hollywood Blvd., the teaser stars Sara Downing as the girl in the chair, Nick Principe as the Babyface prototype and a number of other genre luminaries as dead corpses. The corpses include directors Mike Mendez, Darin Scott and Rolfe Kanefsky, composer Joseph Bishara and Shocktillyoudrop.com's Ryan Rotten.
The teaser's sound design was conceived and produced by Joseph Bishara.
The film which eventually resulted from this teaser, THE HILLS RUN RED, was released on DVD by Warner Home Video on Sept. 29th, 2009. The film's soundtrack album, with a lush, symphonic score by noted composer Frederik Wiedmann, came out from Varese Sarabande records on Sept. 22, 2009.
Please note, the website URL at the end of the teaser is incorrect. The actual URS is www.hillsrunred.com
