VSO operates the RAISA programme, an initiative that aims to improve the lives of people living with or affected by HIV in Southern Africa. The programme has been funded by Irish Aid via VSO Ireland since 2004. In July 2012, VSO Ireland's Head of Programmes, Deirdre Finlay, travelled to Zambia to meet with supported communities. This video is a slideshow of photographs at the Chisomo Community Programme in Chipata. Here women carry a burden, caring for people living with HIV on a voluntary basis. To support them to do this, they receive training and support to generate their own income. For more information on VSO's work see www.vso.ie.
