This video shows what happened when a water control structure in a canal off Florida Park Drive failed after five inches of rain fell in just four hours on Aug. 14, 2009, blowing out a 60-inch pipe. The blow out stirred up a large whirlpool and destroyed an electrical utility box but did not damage the road. However, Florida Park Drive was closed as a new pipe was installed and the city made repairs at a cost of $666,244.
