Ernest, Roberta K. AVERILL PARK Roberta K. "Bobi" Ernest, died peacefully on January 29, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was 62 years young and embraced the hearts of many as she courageously battled brain cancer for the past 20 months. Born in Albany on April 17, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Madeline Dott Sweeney. She was a graduate of Averill Park High School, class of 1967, resided in Sand Lake most of her life, and was a communicant of St. Henry's Church. Bobi will most be remembered for her incredible energy and good nature as she was always in high spirits and helping others. For many years, Bobi worked as a waitress at the Lakeview Inn in Averill Park. She was known to have fun, play jokes, listen, care and lend a hand to anyone. Her smile was contagious and her compassion enormous. Halloween and Christmas were her favorite holidays. She loved to travel, read, cook healthy, garden, shop and spoil her kids. Her new grandson brightened her world unbelievably. She will be missed. Survivors include her beloved children, Lori E. Ernest and David C. Ernest, both of Averill Park and Kristi (Raymond) McDuff of Wynantskill; her grandson Kellan McDuff; the father of her children Robert C. Ernest of Sand Lake; her devoted siblings, David Sweeney of Elizabethtown and Audrey (Larry) Morin of Averill Park; her loyal companion Daniel Dobert of Wynantskill; and many dear nieces and nephews. Bobi's family would like to sincerely thank all of the friends and family who have supported Bobi and her family during the past months and the Rensselaer County Hospice Team, and their wonderful caregivers. Finally, a very special thank you to Shirlee Wager Heffner for her support and compassion during Bobi's final days. Your love, prayers and efforts have sustained us during this difficult time. The funeral will be Thursday, Feburary 2, 2012 at 10:30 a.m., at St. Henry's Church, 39 Old Route 66 (Co. Route 45) in Averill Park. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the church on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Interment will be at St. Henry's Cemetery, Averill Park. Bobi had requested that those wishing to remember her may make donations to the Community Hospice of Rensselaer County, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144 or the Autism Society of the Greater Capital Region, 100 State St., Schenectady, NY 12305. Arrangements by the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel Averill Park.
