why not just use the pockets on the side of the pack ? or use your wide mouth bottle for storage instead of killing the canteen ? get a nesting cup for that bottle and you would be all set ? I cant see the value in this .
Glad you enjoyed the video.

great idea, thanks ! i have lost of canteens so no problem to destroy one *lol*
Pretty much everything except the lighter is waterproof and I carry a ferro rod on my knife, so it is already waterproof, not that having a zip lock bag would be a bad thing.
I have a video on my channel on how to make this stove. Just search for soda can stove and that should answer your questions. thanks for watching.
Really like this video. How did you make the canteen stove that the canteen sits on ? Cut up metal canteen? Thx
It is still a canteen, I just don't happen to be using it to hold water.
Nice kit; however you can't really call it a canteen cook kit when there is no canteen. It's actuall a canteen cup cook set, because what you have there is a canteen cup. Both plastic and metal canteen cups, but no canteen. By cutting the top off you have rendered it unusable as a canteen.
Check out my video on making the improved soda can stove, I show the entire process there. In a nut shell, I spread epoxy on the sides of the stove and wrap the wick over the epoxy.
