Demba Ba's two goals on Monday night against Wigan took the Senegalese striker to 10 for the season in the Premier League, but there remains some doubt over how much longer he'll be scoring for Newcastle United.
The 27-year-old reportedly has a £7.5m release clause in his contract which means he could leave the club in January. And the speculation surrounding Ba, and the way it's come into the public domain, have left Magpies boss Alan Pardew frustrated.
He said: "Information about Demba's contract has leaked out since we've been here and I don't think it's acceptable. But the truth of it is that Demba has got a clause in his contract and it's still hanging over us. We are trying to negotiate it away but we've not managed to do that as yet. But I will say he's never done anything else than look me in the eye and tell me that he wants to stay here and I hope he does."
