My thoughts on the Savage MKII FVSR: I was looking for a better .22 for my daughter. I looked at most of the "youth model" guns they had out there and didn't find anything that I liked. Most of the guns I found were either inaccurate, didn't take optics, flimsy, or just outright crappy. I was talking to a guy at Wanstalls in Maple Ridge and he showed me this MKII. It's got a stiff, heavy barrel, accepts optics, and is sturdy. The difference in her shooting was amazing. With her old Remington 597VTR she was all over the map. With this only 1 one in 25 shots was out of the center black. It's also light enough for her to shoot standing (with her other 9X scope, this 40X weighs more than the gun). I would say if your looking for a light pack rifle or a youth gun look no further.
