We're still in the New Year's Resolution success window and so I thought I'd share my favorite healthy foods that I eat throughout the day. My menu choices are the result of consulting with nutritionists and Weight Watchers throughout the years. If you are concerned about any of the foods I list below, consult with a health care provider about your options.

1) Eggs: I eat 1-2 hard boiled eggs for breakfast for the protein and boost to my metabolism.
2) Chickpeas: Almost every day, I have a salad topped with chickpeas, salsa (usually mango), and Carter & Cavero balsamic vinegar.
3) Apples: A great fiber-rich snack! I try to eat 1-2 a day. I should eat them when I'm getting the evening munchies...I should.
4) Seltzer or Coffee: I am not that great about drinking 8 glasses of water a day, but I love my seltzer (or coffee--regular and decaf) and that still counts. I gave up soda a few years ago--as well as artificial sweetener--but I like the carbonation from soda. Seltzer is a great healthy substitute.
5) Lean Protein: I stick to lean meat for dinner (with veggies and limited starches on the side). It varies each day, but I stick to chicken, fish (white or salmon), sirloin steak, turkey, etc.
