Hey hey ClevverTV peeps! As always, thank you for coming back to the show. I'm Dana Ward and it's been an exceptionally great year for a handle of Hollywood stars and in this episode of the Best of 2011, we're featuring Selena Gomez. And while we're definitely going to hit up a ton of her professional accomplishments, 2012 definitely kicked off with some relationship news. That's right, some photos of SG kissing her her now-open-about boyfriend Justin Bieber hit the public and the Twitterverse went psycho. But it wasn't official yet, because at Justin's Never Say Never purple carpet premiere, they definitely walked it separately. But just around Valentine's day, JB apparently purchased an entire shop of flowers to fill her home with the romantic gift and then on February 27, the two stepped out together as an official couple at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party wearing color-coordinated outfits. A few days later, Selena picked up the pro side of things, releasing Who Says with her band, The Scene. In fact, this song wound up being associated with the movie Monte Carlo -- a flick that the celebrity starred in -- that one premiered in July! Rewind back, SG performed the "optimistic song" that she said is a message to all of the haters, live on the show Dancing With the Stars, and she also hit up the Concert for Hope as well as a charity gala to use her star power to raise money for ongoing relief efforts for those affected by Hurricane Katrina. In fact, we're proud of Selena to actually cut out the pink horse scenes from her Love You Like A Love Song video after a fellow musician and activist gave her 2-thumbs down for animal cruelty... but SG's camp said that the proper precautions were taken -- so don't worry! Poor Selena got a bit overworked mid-year, but she got rested up to host the MuchMusic Video Awards on June 19. In fact, the official debut of her third studio album, When the Sun Goes Down, hit the public on June 28. Amid rumors that the star was set to star in a Sex and the City prequel and that she got a bunch of tattoos, we do know that she is in the works to create her own fragrance. In mid-July Selena and her beau Justin crashed a wedding in Malibu after hearing the song One Less Lonely Girl and a week or so later, JB surprised her fans onstage at her show. And Selena celebrated her 19th birthday on July 22. Early August meant an impressive 5 Teen Choice Awards for the star, including in the categories tv actress, female hottie, choice single for Who Says, choice love song for Love You Like A Love Song and choice music group for The Scene. We still think it was funny to see her interview Justin Bieber and a bunch of other stars at the MTV VMAs preshow. And she also hosted the MTV Europe Music Awards on November 6. But bringing it back to the boyfriend and just because this is insane, Justin actually rented out the Staples center for a date night together. They actually performed Who Says together at his show in Brazil. Amid all of the love and fabulous fashion choices -- I mean, we're still debating on our favorite styles of the year, Selena was dealing with some stalkers, with the courts granting her a temporary restraining order from one particularly creepy man. We can't forget about Miss Gomez' adopted puppy, Baylor... nor about the hit single after hit single that happened throughout 2011. And according to reports, Selena's latest album actually had sales up by 248-percent on Black Friday. Plus, the celebrity announced a tour in South America as well as a big performance for the MTV New Year's Eve tv special. So those are just a few of our standout happenings for Selena Gomez. Let us know what is your favorite moment in 2011 and be sure to keep it here at ClevverTV for more news just like this. I'm Dana Ward and we'll see you later!
