Sam 'Jarvis' Hinson

I was born and raised in the north west corner of New Mexico, on the Colorado border, 5000 foot elevation and surrounded by mountains and nature, growing up in a small town of 5000 people. At an early age i was drawing and painting everything i could get my hands on and my parents nurtured this talent I acquired. All through school i was suspended and in trouble for drawing and not paying attention to anything else, at this point drawing consumed my life and my thoughts.

At an early age (15 yrs old) i acquired my first tattoo ( I DO NOT recommend this to anyone!). I did this unknowing what was possible as a tattoo, so I got what I thought was "cool" at the time, a tribal dragon! This tattoo was paid for by my father, who himself has two tattoos he applied himself at a young age, so I wanted one as well. Tattoos were not my first thing to pick, i wanted my ears pierced and was told "hell no" by my father but, he agreed to the tattoo. This sparked everything!

As I watched my first tattoo being applied, I was just in awww. After it was done I looked at it and thought to myself. "I can do this, and I can do it better than this guy!". At that point I seeked out an apprenticeship. I was able to take one under a local tattoo artist at one of two studios within a three hour drive of my home town. After i completed it, I was a full fledged tattoo artist, so I thought. I tattooed on and off for approximately five years after that. During my "tattoo career" I was also working other jobs full time with an hourly pay, tattooing friends for free, just because I loved it and respected the art form so much.

Fast forward to 2007

I was accepted to All or Nothing tattoo in August of 2007 for an apprenticeship. At this point i sold everything, quit my job and packed what little i had left and moved to Atlanta, not knowing what was in store for me and my new apprenticeship at this amazing studio i have read all about and followed.During this time at All or Nothing Tattoo, i had the amazing pleasure of learning from all these amazing artist from Dave Tedder to Short and everyone in between, and then Brandon Bond. i then, after my hard work and dedication to the art and this studio, was offered a full time position at All or Nothing which i took with no hesitation. I am honored to be part of this family and group of people.

hopefully, one day, i can repay all these amazing people for giving a kid from the mountains a chance to tattoo.

Thank you Brandon Bond and the staff of All or Nothing!
