On March 19, 2014, the Open Society Foundations hosted "The End of Jobs as We Know Them? Technology, Society, and the Future of Work." This half-day convening in New York City brought together speakers and participants from across the social justice, labor, technology, and business sectors. The day sparked a provocative dialogue about how work is transforming and what it means for our future.
The Open Society Foundations' U.S. Programs has initiated a two-year, collaborative inquiry about emerging technologies and the future of work. We are engaging a diverse, cross-disciplinary group of researchers and designers to address some of the biggest questions about the transformation of work and what work might look like in 30 years.
